The annual event auctions drawings, scribbles and "doodles" from various celebrities, with proceeds benefiting the Drama Desk Award-winning Barrow Group. The gala also honors individuals for their commitment to the arts and the Barrow Group.

As part of the event, Sleepwalk With Me's Mike Birbiglia will present Lane with his honor, while Bill Pullman will award Ivey with hers.

Among the artists who contributed their doodles for the fundraiser are Kevin Bacon, Eric Bogosian, Jeff Daniels, Tovah Feldshuh, Will Ferrell, Harvey Fierstein, Malcolm Gets, Whoopi Goldberg, Jonathan Groff, Marcia Gay Harden, Jay Leno, Steve Martin, Martha Plimpton, John Travolta, Donald Trump, Barbara Walters and Dianne Wiest.
