Final Tracks From Hadestown Broadway Cast Album Drop July 26 | Playbill

Cast Recordings & Albums Final Tracks From Hadestown Broadway Cast Album Drop July 26 The anticipated Broadway cast recording of Anaïs Mitchell’s Tony Award-winning musical is now available in its 40-track entirety.

The original Broadway cast recording of Anaïs Mitchell’s Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown is available in its 40-track entirety on major digital and streaming platforms July 26.

Tracks were released in clusters over the past eight weeks in order to allow more time for mixing the 40-track album, which captures over two hours of music from Mitchell’s Tony-winning score. "We got deep into editing and mixing these two-plus hours’ worth of beautiful performances and realized we didn’t have the heart to rush what feels like a very special recording that we hope will live for a long time," Mitchell said.

Orpheus and Eurydice’s songs were the last to drop just after 12 AM on July 26, bringing the album to completion.

The original Broadway cast recording of Hadestown will be released as a double album later this year. The recording is produced by Mitchell, along with David Lai and Todd Sicakfoose, who also produced the show's Off-Broadway cast album, which was recorded live at New York Theatre Workshop in 2017.

Hadestown won eight Tony Awards in total, including Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Orchestrations for Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose.

Hadestown stars Reeve Carney, André De Shields, Amber Gray, Eva Noblezada, Patrick Page, Jewelle Blackman, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, Kay Trinidad, Afra Hines, Timothy Hughes, John Krause, Kimberly Marable, and Ahmad Simmons. Company swings are Malcolm Armwood, T. Oliver Reid, Jessie Shelton, and Khaila Wilcoxon.
