The Broadway musical Swing! will host a post-matinee curtain call dance contest, which serves as the grand finale of New York City's "Swing Week" festivities, Aug. 23. During the curtain call of the matinee performance at the St. James Theatre, three couples will compete for the title of New York City's Best Amateur Swing Dance Couple.

Production sources said that the contest will be between Dawn Hampton, daughter of the legendary Swing musician Lionel Hampton, her partner John Dokes, Hoboken's Mike Lin and Grace Chowchuvech and Manhattan's Yuval Hod and Nathalie Gomes. These finalists won the chance to compete at the St. James after competing last week in New York and New Jersey clubs during Swing Week.

In the tradition of the Savoy Ballroom, the winning couple will be determined by the applause of the matinee crowd for Swing!. The St. James is located at 246 W. 44 St. (between Broadway and Eighth Avenue.
