News Fire at North Shore Music Theatre Shuts Down Cinderella A three-alarm fire July 14 has shut down North Shore Music Theatre and its days-old staging of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, in Beverly, Massachusetts.

A recorded announcement by the resident company known for its in-the-round performances indicated that shows for the weekend (July 15-17) have been cancelled. An assessment about restarting the show will be made in coming days.

The audience and staff were reportedly not in the building at the time of the fire.

A statement on the North Shore website reads, "On July 14, 2005 a fire damaged the stage at NSMT. No one was in the building at the time, and thanks to the efforts of the local fire departments, the fire was controlled quickly."
