Directed by “Sex and the City” creator Darren Star, Variety reports that “Miss/Match” will star Alicia Silverstone as a Manhattan lawyer who also “doubles as a high-end matchmaker.” Film veteran Ryan O’Neal will play Silverstone’s father, a divorce lawyer who has a tenuous relationship with his daughter. About the new pilot, NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker told the industry paper, “This is a good project. It's sort of the scripted version of what's happened with reality television in that it's got the romance, the emotion and all the other touchstones of why 'The Bachelor' and 'Joe Millionaire' have worked. It's also got great vision from Darren Star and Jeff Rake, and with Ryan O'Neal, you have an icon of the big screen who just lends tremendous creditability and charisma to this project."
