Maura Farver directs Three Movements, which features choreography by Avichai Scher. The production will play a limited engagement through Oct. 26.

Erin Fogarty, Maria Portman Kelly and Mike Timoney are featured in the production.

Based on the life of ballet legend George Balanchine, Three Movements, according to press notes, "follows a fictional choreographer, Alexei, as he nurses polio-stricken Sonia, his wife and his greatest dancer. Unable to face the reality that she will never dance again, he convinces himself that he can save his muse. When he becomes frustrated with her lack of progress, though, he leaves her to pursue a promising young dancer, Lindsay. The play examines the complex relationship between choreographer and dancer, the power of eroticism in art, and how people choose (or refuse) to confront illness and the aging process."

Designing Three Movements are Josh Zangen (set design), Melinda C. Basaca (costume design), Joel. E. Silver (lighting design) and Sharath Patel (sound design).
