Roger Bean directs the new work (subtitled The Music of Lou and Peter Berryman) by Colleen Burns and Jack Forbes Wilson, playing Aug. 20-Sept. 12. The show is the mainstage presentation of The Fall Festival of the Future, a series of emerging works seen in developmental readings and productions.
"Love is the Weirdest of All is a musical salute to The Berrymans, Madison's renowned folk-singing duo," according to production notes. "Mixing politics, love and the trials and tribulations of growing older in and out of marriage, Love is the Weirdest of All presents Lou and Peter's songs as what they are: wonderful comedies of everyday life in the American Midwest. Madison favorites Colleen Burns, Jack Forbes Wilson and Roger Bean, who directed The Marvelous Wonderettes, return for this exciting new work."
Love is the Weirdest of All will be presented at the UW Mitchell Theatre.
