A spokesperson for Govich confirmed that the actress will play Carla, the role created on Broadway by Anita Morris in the original production of Nine. Jane Krakowski portrayed Carla in the 2003 revival, winning a Tony Award for her performance. Nine, featuring a Tony-winning score by Maury Yeston, will play the North Shore Aug. 24-Sept. 12. Barry Ivan will direct the musical that concerns the life of a Fellini-esque director and such tunes as "Be Italian," "Unusual Way," "Be On Your Own," "My Husband Makes Movies" and "The Bells of St. Sebastian." "Guiding Light" star Robert Newman was previously announced for the role of filmmaker Guido Contini.
On Broadway Milena Govich was seen in Cabaret and The Boys From Syracuse. She also appeared in the national tour of Cabaret, and her film and television credits include "Give My Regards to Wall Street," "Hit and Runway," "Dandelion Fields" and "Guiding Light." Govich recently completed filming the lead role in the independent short feature "Bad Behavior."
