Ah, the wonders of individual experience! That's the theme of the fifth annual Flying Solo And Friends Festival, set for Sept. 5-28 at the Actors Theatre of Louisville's Victor Jory Theatre. How each performer's identity is influenced by geography and local customs sets the tone for the four plays chosen for this year's Festival.

Here's the Festival line-up:
Love In The Time Of College (Sept. 5-7), is the third in a trilogy of solo works written and performed by first-generation Texan, Paul Bonin Rodriguez. He plays John Roy Hobson, who discovers freedom and fashion design at the University of Texas. Talk Of The Town and The Bible Belt And Other Accessories were previous, more comic entries in the series.

Word Of Mouth (Sept. 9-14) features James Lecesne as a bevy of desperate characters seeking peace, from a short-wave nut to a Virgin Mary groupie. Lecesne won a 1995 Drama Desk Award for the Off-Broadway staging of this piece.

Alligator Tales (Sept. 16-21), by Anne Galjour, follows eight characters in a tight Cajun community battling hurricanes, floods and oil speculators. Galjour's solo comes to Manhattan Theatre Club at the end of September.

Old Man In A Baseball Cap (Sept. 23-29), Nicknamed "Rockets," Fred Rochlin remembers his years as a World War II flier -- and the dichotomy between air force discipline and the people he'd meet in war-torn Europe.
