On Saturday, Nov. 2 Frankie and Johnny in the Clair De Lune will celebrate its 100th performance on Broadway. Edie Falco — of "Sopranos" fame — and Stanley Tucci star in the Terrence McNally play, which features direction from Love! Valour! Compassion!'s Joe Mantello. The work about the relationship between two lonely diner workers began previews at the Belasco Theatre on July 26 and opened to mostly rave reviews on Aug. 8. Falco and Tucci are scheduled to stay with the production through Dec. 29. There has been no announcement about a subsequent cast.
The comedy-drama — produced by The Araca Group, Jean Doumanian Productions and USA Ostar Theatricals, in association with Jam Theatricals and Ray and Kit Sawyer — recouped its investment in six-and-a-half weeks.
Frankie and Johnny plays Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. The Belasco theatre is located at 111 West 44th Street. Tickets, priced between $36.25 and $81.25, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
