News Free Reading of Knable's Green Man to Be Presented April 7 Ars Nova's free play-reading series, Out Loud, will continue April 7 with Jim Knable's Green Man.

Directed by Evan Cabnet, the performance will feature the talents of Susan Pourfar, Jennifer Mudge and Garreth Saxe. Show time is 7 PM. "A painter, an architect and a stone sculptor are all haunted by a mysterious Green Man who fills an incredible void in each of their lives," according to Green Man press notes. "A powerful new play about love, loss and gargoyles, featuring two original songs and a man painted green."

Knable's play Spain was produced last fall at MCC. His other works include Saltimbanques, The Rapier of Europa, Emerson High, Othamlet and True and Solid Ground. Knable is also a songwriter and leader of the New York City band The Randy Bandits, who released the album "Redbeard" in 2006.
