News Free Tony Award Documentary Film Series Plays Times Square Visitors Center, Starting May 9 The Tony Award Documentary Film Series, part of the 2011 Tony Awards Showcase exhibit at the Times Square Visitors Center and Mini-Museum, begins May 9. The showcase continues until the end of June.

The series comprises three films that go behind the scenes of Tony-eligible Broadway musicals. The Tony Awards Showcase also features historic Tony memorabilia, including costumes, posters, video footage and more.

The Tony Award Film Series features the following:

May 9: "Finding Billy"
"A film that takes viewers behind-the-scenes in the search for the young male leads in Billy Elliot the Musical."

May 16: "Every Little Step"
"Follows the real-life dancers as they struggle through auditions for the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. The film also takes a look at the history of the show and the creative minds behind the original and revival Broadway shows."

May 23: "Show Business: The Road to Broadway"
"Goes behind the curtain to capture a Broadway season in all of its controversy, passion, and risk."

Each screening will begin at 6:30 PM and will be followed by a panel discussion with the film's producers, Broadway theatre producers and talent.

The Tony Awards Film Series is free to the public. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, as seating is limited. Limit two tickets per person. To RSVP, send ticket request and film preference to [email protected].

Times Square Visitors Center and Mini-Museum is located at Seventh Avenue, between 46th and 47th Streets.
