The Friends of New York Theatre will announce their 1998-99 nominations for the 6th Annual FANY Awards April 12. Winners will be announced May 23 at the Broadway Grill. The FANY Awards are a "People's Choice" for New York Theatre voted on by the members of FNYT. Last year, Cabaret was the top winner, along with Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner (jointly) who tied Natasha Richardson, and Art and The Lion King which won for Best Play and Best Musical respectively.
Membership to FNYT is open to anyone. Dues range from $200-$25. Tickets for the FANY Awards go on sale April 12 for $25 (members) and $50 (non-members). Prices increase to $50 and $75 after May 16. For information on membership and tickets, call (212) 974-0139.
