Solo performer Marga Gomez will be the New York Fringe Festival's jaywalker [sic] Aug. 18-29, at the WOW Cafe, after debuting the show earlier at P.S. 122.

jaywalker is a one-woman rampage against Hollywood that erupts into littering, loitering and jaywalking when a law-abiding Latina pedestrian is denied her dream to become the first lesbian on "Baywatch." Frustrated with watching Jennifer Lopez and Chihuahuas get all the attention, she embarks on a misdemeanor crime spree.

Harlem-native Gomez has written and performed three solo shows (A Line Around the Block, Memory Tricks and Marga Gomez is Pretty, Witty & Gay) and performed in New York at both the Public Theater and the Whitney Museum. As a comic, she released her first recording "Hung Like a Fly." Recently she appeared in Barry Levinson's "Sphere" and as a guest star on TV's "Tracey Takes On..."

Tickets are $11 and can be reserved by calling (212) 420-8877 or (888) FringeNYC. WOW Cafe is located at 59-61 E. 4th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. The New York Fringe Festival is on the internet at http://www.fringenyc.org. -- By Christine Ehren
