Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann's satirical show, on view as part of the New York International Fringe Festival, has extended its run one week past the Fest, through Sept. 4.

Set in a gotham-esque city where the privilege to relieve oneself is regulated by a single corporation, Urinetown uses the basic melodramatic themes of greed, corruption and betrayal to portray a time where water is worth its weight in gold.

The production is put together by Theatre of the Apes -- that is, improv all-stars Kotis (of the Neo-Futurists) and Hollmann (of Second City and Chicago City Limits). Joseph P. McDonnell will direct.

The production plays at the Fringe Fest's homebase, The Present Company Theatorium (198 Stanton St). For tickets or more information, call 1 (888) FringeNYC.
