News "Frost/Nixon" Film Will Make Its World Premiere in London Ron Howard's silver-screen adaptation of Peter Morgan's Tony-nominated Best Play Frost/Nixon will make its world premiere this fall at the BFI London Film Festival, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Working Title Films/Universal Pictures motion picture — which features original Frost/Nixon stage stars Frank Langella and Michael Sheen — will be seen at the London festival Oct. 15. The festival runs Oct. 15-30.

In a statement Morgan, who also penned the film's screenplay, said, "I've been so fortunate with Frost/Nixon, working with two world-class directors in theatre and film and watching two lead actors at the top of their games. Now, having the film premiere at my hometown just completes a thrilling, fairy-tale ride for me."

According to press notes for the Broadway production, "Frost/Nixon tackles the question: How did David Frost, a famous British talk-show host with a playboy reputation, elicit the apology that the rest of the world was waiting to hear from former President Richard Nixon? The fast-paced new play shows the determination, conviction and cunning of two men as they square off in one of the most monumental political interviews of all time."

In addition to Langella (as President Nixon) and Sheen (as David Frost), the film also stars Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, Sam Rockwell, Rebecca Hall, Toby Jones and Matthew Macfadyen.

The industry paper also says that Universal Pictures will release "Frost/Nixon" in January 2009 in the U.K. The film, according to the Internet Movie database, will arrive in U.S. theatres in December 2008.
