The Fitzgeralds are iconic American figures, high-livers and big-spenders. Scott, who wrote the books “The Beautiful and the Damned,” “The Great Gatsby” and “Tender Is The Night,” and Zelda were among the most glamorous and talked-about figures of the 1920’s jazz age, but tragedy lay in wait. Zelda died in a sanitarium and Scott eventually succumbed to the effects of alcoholism

Michael Praed and Helen Anker, who both recently starred in the London run of Contact, reunite to play the Fitzgeralds. Despite regular stage work, Praed is still best-known for his turns in TV hits “Dynasty” and “Robin of Sherwood”. Co-starring will be David Burt and Susannah Fellows.

Roger Cook and Les Reed are both among the UK’s most distinguished songwriters. Cook wrote more than 80 Top 30 hits, including “Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart”, “Something Tells Me” and “I’d Like to Teach The World to Sing”. Reed has won ten Ivor Novello awards and wrote standards such as “It’s Not Unusual”, “Delilah” and “The Last Waltz”.

Set and costume designs will be by Christopher Woods, lighting by Nick Richings and orchestration by Larry Blank. John Owen Edwards is music director, with choreography and direction by Craig Revel Horwood.
