Heather Goldenhersh, the sweet-voiced actress who appeared in Playwrights Horizons' Psych and Goodnight Children Everywhere, is in the company of James Barbour, David Rasche and JoBeth Williams for the world premiere of Marsha Norman's The Last Dance, at Manhattan Theatre Club.

Previews for the work by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Getting Out, 'night, Mother and The Secret Garden begin May 6 on Stage II. Opening night is June 3.

MTC artistic director Lynne Meadow directs. Barbour, Rasche and Williams had previously been announced.

Designers are Loy Arcenas (set), Ann Roth (costume), Duane Schuler (lighting), Bruce Ellman (sound) and Jason Robert Brown (original music).

In the play, "Charlotte (JoBeth Williams), an American poet, is living elegantly in the south of France, surrounded by love, poetry, and flowers. She just wants to indulge herself in all that life has to offer. If only there weren't so many hangers-on who want her attention."

Barbour was last seen on Broadway as Rochester in Jane Eyre. The Last Dance marks the MTC debut of Goldenhersh, a Juilliard School graduate. Rasche makes his MTC debut here. He appeared in Broadway's Getting and Spending, Speed The Plow, Lunch Hours, Loose Ends and The Shadow Box. Williams last appeared at MTC in John Guare's Gardenia with Sam Waterston, James Woods, and Edward Hermann. She was last seen on stage in The Vagina Monologues in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas. She is widely known for her film work in "Kramer vs. Kramer," "Poltergeist," "The Big Chill," "Memories of Me" and "Wyatt Earp." Performances play 7:30 PM Tuesday-Sunday and 3 PM Saturdays and Sundays.

Tickets are $45 and can be reserved by calling (212) 581-1212. Student tickets are $20, and are on sale for all performances based on availability, on the day of the performance, up to one hour before show time (limit four per student with valid identification).
