Terry Johnson, who won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for the transfer of his London staging of La Cage aux Folles to Broadway and more recently was represented there by the Broadway transfer of End of the Rainbow, will direct a cast that comprises Clarke Peters, Jasper Britton, Charles Daish and Nina Toussaint-White.

In Race, a man is accused of rape. The accused is white, the accuser black.  Two lawyers, one black and one white, must uncover and sift the facts of the case.  Is the man guilty?  And, irrespective of that, can his case be won? Race premiered on Broadway in 2009 in the author's own production.

Peters, who plays Henry, was most recently seen onstage in the title role of Othello at Sheffield's Crucible opposite Dominic West, with whom he co-starred in TV's "The Wire." Other stage credits include Five Guys Named Moe (which he also conceived, and transferred to Broadway), The Iceman Cometh (London's Almeida and transfer to Broadway), Chicago (West End and Broadway), Porgy and Bess (Savoy Theatre) and Mourning Becomes Electra and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (both at the National Theatre). Other TV credits include "Treme," "Damages," "The Corner," "Jonathan Creek," "Medics" and "Masculine Ending." Film credits include "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men," "Freedomland," "Gulliver’s Travels,' "Valediction," "Endgame," "Marley and Me" and "Notting Hill."

Britton, who plays Jack, was in the RSC's recent productions of Marat/Sade and The Taming of the Shrew (including West End and Washington, DC), as well as The Beggar's Opera at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park, Fram and Oedipus at the National, and Japes at the West End's Theatre Royal, Haymarket.

Daish, who plays Charles, has been seen in the international tour of Mamma Mia!, A Streetcar Named Desire at the Donmar Warehouse, The Light in the Piazza at Leicester's Curve and Rain Man at the West End's Apollo Theatre. Toussaint-White, who plays Susan, is currently appearing as Jude in ITV's "Switch." Other screen roles include "Scott and Bailey" (ITV), "Whitechapel" (ITV), "Doctor Who" (BBC), "Daughters" (BBC), "Eastenders" (BBC) and "Primeval" (ITV).
