News Full Casting Announced for U.K. Premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities; Martha Plimpton to Make London Debut Martha Plimpton will make her London stage debut in the U.K. premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, joining the previously announced Sinéad Cusack and Clare Higgins in Lindsay Posner's production that will begin performances March 13 at the Old Vic Theatre, prior to an official opening March 24, for a run that is booking through May 24.

Also in the cast will be Peter Egan and Daniel Lapaine. The production will be the first in a season to be presented in-the-round at the theatre, reprising the transformation that was previously seen there for The Norman Conquests that subsequently transferred to Broadway.

In the play, Brooke Wyeth (Plimpton) returns to the family home in Palm Springs for the first time in six years with some incendiary news for her Republican parents Polly (Cusack) and Lyman (Egan), her brother Trip (Lapaine) and her recovering alcoholic Aunt Silda (Higgins). She is about to publish a memoir about her family, exposing a pivotal moment in their painful and explosive past, her actions threatening to push fractured family relations to a point beyond repair.

Plimpton first came to public attention in the 1980s for roles in films such as "The Goonies," "Parenthood," Woody Allen's "Another Woman" and "Running on Empty." She currently stars as Virginia Chance in the FOX television series "Raising Hope," which earned her an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Other regular television roles include "The Good Wife" (for which she won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama series), "ER," "Grey's Anatomy" and the HBO series "How To Make It In America." Plimpton's Broadway stage appearances include Tony-nominated performances in Top Girls, The Coast of Utopia and Pal Joey.

Egan was most recently seen on the London stage in Alan Bennett's People at the National Theatre. Other West End stage credits include Trevor Nunn's production of Hamlet, Journey's End, Arms and the Man, You Never Can Tell, M. Butterfly, Noises Off, Art, The Secret Rapture and Déjà Vu. TV credits include "Cold Comfort Farm," "Big Breadwinner Hog," "A Perfect Spy," "Joint Account," "Ever Decreasing Circles," "Lillie" and "Downton Abbey." Films include "The Hireling," "Chariots of Fire," "Bean," "The I Inside," "The Wedding Date" and "Man to Man."

Lapaine was last seen at the Old Vic as Eilert Loevborg in Hedda Gabler, with Sheridan Smith and Adrian Scarborough. Other stage credits include All My Sons (Apollo), The Dance of Death (Donmar at The Trafalgar), Scenes from the Back of Beyond and F**king Games (both Royal Court). Film work includes "Zero Dark Thirty," "Dead in Tombstone," "Muriel’s Wedding" and" Double Jeopardy." To book tickets, contact the box office on 0844 871 7628 or visit www.oldvictheatre.com.
