The production will begin performances July 1 prior to an official opening July 8, for a run through Sept. 27.

Gina McKee will play Queen Elizabeth, joining the previously announced Martin Freeman in the title role.

Also in the cast will be Simon Coombs (Tyrrel), Philip Cumbus (Richmond), Gerald Kyd (Catesby), Paul Leonard (Stanley), Forbes Masson (Hastings), Paul McEwan (King Edward IV/Bishop of Ely), Mark Meadows (Clarence/Lord Mayor), Lauren O’Neil (Lady Anne), Maggie Steed (Queen Margaret) and Jo Stone-Fewings (Buckingham).

The production is designed by Soutra Gilmour, with lighting design by Charles Balfour, sound and music by Ben and Max Ringham and fights by Kate Waters.

McKee was last on stage in Di and Viv and Rose at the Hampstead Theatre. She has previously worked with Jamie Lloyd on The Lover and The Collection at the Comedy Theatre in 2008. Other stage credits include King Lear and Old Times (both at the Donmar Warehouse), Ivanov (produced by the Donmar Warehouse at Wyndham's Theatre), Separate Tables at the Chichester Festival Theatre and The Exonerated at Riverside Studios. She won the Best Actress BAFTA for TV's "Our Friends in the North" and was also BAFTA-nominated for "The Street 2" and "The Lost Prince."
