News Gauguin/Savage Light Musical Returns to NYC Sept. 26 George Fischoff's musical, Gauguin/Savage Light, will return to the Roy Arias Mini-Theatre on West 43rd Street in Manhattan Sept. 26-Oct. 21.

This will be the fourth engagement for the intimate non-Equity musical about the life and loves of the famed artist. This "compact" Gauguin (in a theatre with 25 seats) will feature Dominic Scaglione, Jr. as Gauguin, Kaylin Lee Clinton as all the women in his life and Adam Wright as Van Gogh and other men.

The show's tireless promoter and creator Fischoff, who penned book, music and lyrics, will be at the piano. In an unusual note, the show is "directed and choreographed by the cast."

Fischoff co-wrote the 1960s pop hits "98.6" and "Lazy Day." He also wrote songs for the musicals Georgy and Sayonara.

The scenic world of the show features reproductions of Gauguin's art. The musical runs 90 minutes without intermission, and all seats are $25.

"In depicting Gauguin's journey to greatness, from Paris, to the South of France with Van Gogh, and finally to Tahiti, Fischoff hopes to inspire all to achieve their dreams," according to production notes. The score of Gauguin/Savage Light is available on the Original Cast label.

Performances will play Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.

The Roy Arias Mini-Theatre is located at 300 West 43rd Street, 5th floor.
