News Geoffrey Rush Joins Cast of Warner Bros. "Green Lantern" Film Tony Award winner Geoffrey Rush will voice the role of Tomar-Re in the Warner Bros. film "Green Lantern," which is scheduled for a June 17 release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film will be directed by Martin Campbell and will star Ryan Reynolds.

The movie is based on the DC comic books by the same name and is about "a small but powerful force" called the Green Lantern Corps. When a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the universe, the fate of the Corps lies in the hands of their new recruit, Hal Jordan. Rush's character, Tomar-Re, is a key member of the Green Lantern Corps.

Rush won a Tony Award for his performance in Exit the King. He was also seen in the Australian premiere of The Drowsy Chaperone as Man in Chair and is in talks to reprise his role in a film version of the musical. Rush recently received an Oscar nomination for his work in "The King's Speech."
