Hershey Felder's one-man show about George Gershwin, George Gershwin Alone, has been extended for the fourth time. The show, which was directed by Joel Zwick, opened last June and has been renewed each month since then. The current closing date is Sept. 24, after which time the show is expected to transfer to Broadway. Felder is the playwright and performer. After doing five years of research on Gershwin, he got the rights from the late composer's estate to develop a solo show. The show represents the first time in 63 years since the composer's death in 1937 that the character of George Gershwin is being represented on a commercial stage by an actor.

George Gershwin Alone has been one of the big hits of the summer. The show has garnered praise from both print and on-line critics.
