The evening at the Players Club, which begins at 6 PM, will feature an all-star cast "playing all the 'wrong' roles," according to press notes. "Imagine Michael Cerveris as the teenage virgin St. Joan, or Kate Mulgrew as the teenage virgin Cleopatra, or Jane Powell as the teenage virgin Eliza." Producer David Staller will direct a cast that boasts Kate Baldwin, Michael Cerveris, Jayne Houdyshell, George S. Irving, Charlotte Moore, Kate Mulgrew, Jane Powell, Michael Riedel, Diane Stilwell Weinberg and Tom Viola as well as Irish musicians and others "set to participate in songs, dances and larks."
The evening, which will honor associate producer Anita Jaffe, will also include a traditional old-fashioned Irish dinner: corned beef and cabbage, lamb stew, greenie pie, puddings and ales.
The Players Club is located in Manhattan at 16 Gramercy Park South. For tickets, priced $95, call (212) 352-3101. For more information visit www.projectshaw.com.
