PlayBlog "Glee" Stars Dot-Marie Jones and Jayma Mays Talk Co-Directing McKinley High's West Side Story (Video) Dot-Marie Jones and Jayma Mays, who play Coach Beiste and Emma Pillsbury, respectively, on the Fox hit series "Glee," were recently named co-directors of the McKinley High School musical West Side Story.

Their characters also team up with Artie Abrams, played by Kevin McHale, to direct the upcoming musical. Here, Jones and Mays sat down with HitFix to talk about their new dynamic on the series and taking on West Side. They also dish about what viewers will see on the third season.

On the last episode of "Glee," Coach Beiste and Ms. Pillsbury finished the audition phase and posted the West Side Story cast list. Rachel Berry, played by Lea Michele, and Mercedes Jones, played by Amber Riley, went head-to-head for the leading role of Maria. At their callback, or what Puck referred to as "Clash of the Titans," Rachel and Mercedes put up a tough fight, but ended up being double-cast.

When Mercedes learned that she would have to share the "Spotlight," she gave over the title to Rachel and met with Shelby Corcoran, played by Idina Menzel, to obtain more information on McKinley's second glee club, where she feels her talent will not go to waste.
