The 35th anniversary revival of Harvey Fierstein’s landmark drama Torch Song Trilogy returned to Broadway this season in a new production starring Michael Urie as Arnold Beckoff (the role playwright Fierstein originated) opposite Tony winner Mercedes Ruehl as his mother.

They are joined by fellow members of the Off-Broadway cast, including Ward Horton as Ed, Roxanna Hope Radja as Laurel, Michael Hsu Rosen as Alan, and Jack DiFalco as David.

Billed as Torch Song for its Broadway return, Fierstein has edited his original trilogy down to two acts.

The Moisés Kaufman-helmed revival began previews October 9 at the Helen Hayes Theatre, where the original, Tony-winning 1982 production ran for over 1,222 performances.
