Can we control our fate, or is our future written in the stars? Stari Theatre will investigate this and many other questions quintessential to Russian drama, when their production of Gogol's Marriage: An Absolutely Impossible Event in Two Acts goes up at NY's Access Theatre, April 15-24. Gogol's 1842 comedy about four grooms, three matchmakers, two servants, and a bride -- all dreaming of marriage and hoping to change their lives, goes through a new translation by Russian director Oleg Kheyfets.
Widely acclaimed for his ensemble performances, Kheyfets has had several of his productions broadcast on Russian television.
