The benefit also honors Bill Roedy, the vice chairman of MTV Networks, and John Demsey, the chairman of the M.A.C. AIDS Fund, and will include special tributes to Sharon Stone, amfAR’s chairman of the Campaign for AIDS Research, and Dr. Mathilde Krim, amfAR's founding chairman.

Goldberg has starred on Broadway in self-titled one-woman shows in 1984 and 2004, and in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She was a producer of Ma Rainey and won a Tony Award for producing Thoroughly Modern Millie.
