Singer, Grammy winner and musical theatre star Vicki Carr plays a two week engagement at Feinstein's at the Regency, June 13-24.
Popular in America, Europe and Latin America, Carr was born in El Paso but grew up in California's San Gabriel Valley. The bilingual singer built an international career based largely on her Mexican-American heritage.
A three-time Grammy winner, Carr is known for her '60s hits, "He's a Rebel," and "It Must Be Him." She has released 60 recordings for such labels as Liberty/United Artists, Columbia Records, CBS/SONY, CBS Mexico International and PolyGram Latino U.S./Universal Music Latin, among others.
Carr's theatre experience includes starring roles in a Starlight Theatre production of South Pacific in Kansas City, and in The Unsinkable Molly Brown with the Ohio-based John Kenley Players. Carr broke house records at St. Louis' Westport Playhouse when she starred in the 1983 production of I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road.
At Feinstein's, Carr will play one show nightly from Tues. Thurs., and two shows nightly on Fri. and Sat. The cover charge is $60. Dinner is required at the early shows and seating begins nightly at 6 PM. Early shows start at 8:30 PM and late shows on Fri. and Sat. begin seating at 10 PM, with an 11 PM show.
