Classic Arts News Grand Teton Festival Announces 2006 Season, Runnicles' First The 2006 Grand Teton Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. will include visits from violinist Sarah Chang and cellist Lynn Harrell and a performance of Mahler's Third Symphony featuring mezzo-soprano Jennifer Laromore.
The season will be the first under the direction of music director Donald Runnicles, who succeeds Eiji Oue, music director from 1997 to 2003. Peter Oundjian has acted as music advisor for the last two years.

The festival opens on July 7 with a performance by Runnicles and the Grand Teton Festival Orchestra of Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Beethoven's Third Symphony; Chang is the soloist. It runs through August 26.

Other highlights include the Elgar Cello Concerto, with Harell as soloist, and programs marking the Mozart and Shostakovich anniversaries.

Guest conductors include Andrey Boteyko, Roy Goodman, Andrew Litton, and Arild Remmereit, all making their festival debuts.
