Although air dates have yet to be announced, TV viewers can expect to enjoy Anna Deavere Smith's one-woman show Let Me Down Easy, the Tony-winning musical Memphis (with Montego Glover and Chad Kimball) and the recent 25th anniversary performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera at London's Royal Albert Hall (starring Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess).
Other offerings will include The Thomashefskys, Michael Tilson Thomas' musical tour of the lives of his grandparents, who were stars of the Yiddish theatre circuit (co-starring Shuler Hensley and Judy Blazer); and "The Divine Right," a four-part miniseries from executive producer Sam Mendes that assembles four of Shakespeare's history plays (Richard II, Henry IV Parts I & II and Henry V) into a chronological narrative starring Patrick Stewart, Ben Whishaw and David Suchet.
Academy Award winner Julie Andrews will also return to host "From Vienna: The New Year's Celebration 2012."
