With two Macbeths already having opened in London in recent weeks (Simon Russell Beale at the Almeida and the Max Stafford-Clark promenade production at Wilton’s Music Hall), it’s the RSC’s turn. Greg Hicks faces the press as the bloodthirsty thane, at the Albery, on Feb. 16.

Hicks, who played Coriolanus for the company in 2003, also played the Ghost in this season’s Hamlet at the same address. Sian Thomas, that show’s Gertrude, is Lady Macbeth, in a production directed by Dominic Cooke. The rest of the cast includes Pal Aron, Louise Bangay, Nathaniel Barber, Jack Chamberlain, Richard Cordery, Ian Drysdale, Jack Fielding, Callum Findlay, Meg Fraser, Ruth Gemmell, Grace Griffiths, Sean Hannaway, Oliver Hayes, Louis Hilyer, Michael G Jones, John Killoran, John McKay, Neil Madden, Forbes Masson, Lucy Morris, Tom Spackman, Jack Whitam and Clive Wood.

Set designs are by Robert Innes-Hopkins with costumes by Tania Spooner. Peter Mumford supplies the lighting, with sound by Andrea Cox, music by Gary Yershon and fights by Terry King.

Meanwhile, Corin Redgrave, who has just finished playing Lear at the Albery, stays with the RSC but moves down the road. He’ll open in Tynan, about the famous theatre critic Kenneth Tynan, on Feb. 21.
