News Guare, Howe, Linney, Kim Featured in Ensemble Studio Theater One-Act Marathon, May 7 The Ensemble Studio Theater will kick off their 26th annual Marathon, May 7, continuing its long tradition of bringing premieres of one-act plays by new and notable playwrights. Among the playwrights this year are John Guare, Tina Howe, Romulus Linney and Susan Kim.

The four plays from the aforementioned scribes include Guare's Woman on the Threshold Beckoning, Howe's Water Music, Linney's Coda and Kim's Momento. More plays are to be announced soon. Guare, Howe and Linney return to the festival whose past participants have included shows that have gone on to Broadway, Off-Broadway and regional runs. Playwrights have included Leslie Ayvazian, Christopher Durang, Herb Gardner, Frank Gilroy, Richard Greenberg, David Ives, Michael John LaChiusa, Craig Lucas, David Mamet, Steve Martin, Arthur Miller, Marsha Norman, Joyce Carol Oates, Paul Rudnick, John Patrick Shanley, Shel Silverstein, Wendy Wasserstein and Tennessee Williams.

The Marathon in past years consisted of three separate evenings, that run twelve one acts over a period of six weeks.
