Entitled "Race to Witch Mountain," the film will also star Dwayne Johnson ("The Rock") and Garry Marshall, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Directed by Andy Fickman, "Race to Witch Mountain" casts Gugino as an astrophysicist and UFO expert who becomes involved in the plight of a pair of young psychic siblings who must avoid capture by a group of evil men looking to exploit their powers. Johnson portrays a cab driver that enlists Gugino's help, while Marshall has been cast as a UFO theorist who assists their efforts.
Filming for the movie, penned by Matt Lopez and based on the novel by Alexander Key, will begin later this month in Los Angeles.
Gugino appeared on Broadway in the revival of Arthur Miller's After the Fall and was most recently seen in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Tennessee Williams' Suddenly Last Summer. Her screen roles include "Sin City," "Entourage," "American Gangster," "Righteous Kill," "Our Lady of Victory," "Watchmen," "Judas Kiss" and "The War at Home."
