The 24-Hour Play Company regularly creates an evening of short plays between sundowns. Writers, directors and actors are partnered late one evening. The playwrights then pound out a one-act play in the wee hours, which the director and thesps take up at the crack on dawn and rehearse until showtime.

Confirmed artists on the acting side thus far include Rosemarie DeWitt, Alex Draper and Chris Mussina.

Guirgis' Our Lady of 121st Street is currently playing the Union Square Theatre. Rebeck's Bad Dates will run at Playwrights Horizons later this season.

The company presented an evening of plays Sept. 24, 2001, just days after the terrorist attacks, at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Proceeds from the all-star event went to aid in the creation of a children's mural honoring the victims of Sept. 11.
