News Gwyneth Paltrow's "Glee" Guest Spot Confirmed; Darren Criss Will Also Join Cast Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow will guest star on "Glee" as previously reported, according to abcnews.com.

The Fox musical comedy's co-creator, Ryan Murphy, told Usmagazine.com, "Yes, it's true. She is a fan of the show." As reported, Murphy said Paltrow will play "a substitute teacher who Matt Morrison's character [Will Schuester] falls for." He added that the actress, who will sing in the upcoming film "Country Strong," will perform "three or four solos" on "Glee." Also, ew.com reports that Darren Criss has joined the cast of the series. Criss will play Blaine, a gay student from rival glee club the Dalton Academy Warblers. Although EW reports that Blaine's relationship with New Directions' gay all-star, Kurt (Chris Colfer), will be platonic, it is possible that the two will eventually strike up a romantic relationship, as the rumors have been strong for some time that Kurt will get a boyfriend this season.

Criss has appeared on the ABC series "Eastwick" but may be best known for starring in "A Very Potter Musical," a musical "Harry Potter" parody produced by the University of Michigan student theatre group Team StarKid that went viral last year and gained Criss some YouTube notoriety.
