New Yorkers are gearing up for a storm that is predicted to dump upwards of a foot of snow in the tri-state area. Because of that possibility, on Feb. 9 New York City Schools Chancellor Joel Klein announced that public schools would be closed. Many private schools followed suit.
The Broadway production of Hair is offering $40 tickets at the box office (with student I.D.) to the 2 PM and 8 PM performances of the Tony Award-winning revival. Each student may purchase up to four tickets.
The original Broadway cast of Hair will depart in early March to open the West End incarnation, which begins previews at the Gielgud Theatre April 1. A new Broadway cast begins performances March 9.
Featuring book and lyrics by the late Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot, the Broadway revival of Hair opened on Broadway March 31, 2009 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Diane Paulus earned a Tony nomination for her direction of the revival.
