La Jolla artistic director Des McAnuff (700 Sundays) directs the new version of Georges Feydeau's comedy Tailleur pour dames set to open at the California company's new venue Feb. 27 for a run through March 27. Mark O'Donnell (co-librettist of Hairspray) translates and adapts the new version of Feydeau’s farce in which a newlywed doctor falls for one of his patients and thinks he found the perfect place for a tryst only to be sorely disappointed. Mistaken identities abound in the work.

The cast of Private Fittings cast includes Jessica Boevers (Oklahoma!, Rent), Lucia Brawley (The Notebooks of Leonardo of Leonardo da Vinci), Kyle Fabel (Ancient History/English Made Simple), Chris Hoch (Dracula, Beauty and the Beast), Stana Katic ("The Shield"), Chris Kipiniak (Metamorphoses), Eric Wippo (The Architecture of Loss) and Joan van Ark (The School for Wives, "Knots Landing").

The work replaced the previously-announced world premiere of Lee Blessing's The Scottish Play which will make its debut in the coming season. Ethan McSweeny is slated to direct.

The complete La Jolla 2005 season will also include the world premiere musicals Palm Beach and The Essential Alice, the return of I Am My Own Wife, a Page to Stage workshop staging of the developing musical adaptation of Doctor Zhivago and a new adaptation of Moliere's The Miser.

Tickets to Private Fittings at The Playhouse, 2910 La Jolla Village Drive in La Jolla, CA can be purchased by calling (858) 550-1010. For more information, visit the La Jolla website at www.lajollaplayhouse.com.
