News Hal Holbrook Signs On for FX's "Sons of Anarchy" Tony Award-winning stage veteran Hal Holbrook has signed on for a guest role on the third season of the FX series about an outlaw motorcycle club, "Sons of Anarchy."

"Sons of Anarchy" will return in September, with Holbrook making his first appearance on the series in the third episode. He has signed on for four episodes as "the father of Gemma Morrow Teller (Katey Sagal), with whom he reconnects through coincidental circumstances," according to FX. Production for the third season of "Sons of Anarchy" begins April 23. Kurt Sutter created the series and serves as executive producer.

Holbrook earned the 1966 Best Actor Tony Award for Mark Twain Tonight!, a role he repeated on Broadway in 1977 and in 2005. He made his Broadway debut in Do You Know the Milky Way? and has appeared in After the Fall, Marco Millions, Incident at Vichy, Tartuffe, The Glass Menagerie, Man of La Mancha, The Apple Tree, I Never Sang for My Father, Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie? and An American Daughter. His screen credits include "The Sopranos," "Into the Wild," "The West Wing," "Designing Women," "All the President's Men," "Julia," "Wall Street," "The Firm," "Men of Honor" and "The Majestic."
