Film, television and stage veteran Harold Gould stars as a Hollywood screenwriter in the world premiere of Fellow Traveler, Sept. 12-Oct. 20 at the Malibu Stage Company.

Malibu's founding artistic director Charles Marowitz helms John Herman Shaner's dark comedy. Gould's screenwriter, Arnold Priest, finds himself at a loss with the collapse of communism in Soviet Russia. A life-long supporter of the cause, he and his best friend fall apart once they've lost their idealogy and it's up to the women in their lives to put them back together. Shaner is also the playwright of After Crystal Night, The Real Tinsel and The War Against Women.

Best remembered as Martin Morgenstern on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Rhoda," Gould has many theatre credits, creating the role of Artie Shaughnessy in John Guare's The House of Blue Leaves and playing in Neil Simon's Fools, Jules Feiffer's Grown Ups and Tom Stoppard's Artist Descending a Staircase. Recently, he starred in Visiting Mr. Green with Pasadena Playhouse and Old Wicked Songs with Rubicon Theatre.

Also in the cast are Michael Kagan ("Providence") as David Kreutzer, Mimi Cozzens (Broadway's Children of a Lesser God, I Ought to Be in Pictures) as Providence Allgrace-Priest, Molly Weber as Evening Star, David Barry Gray (the Roundabout Theatre's Broadway revival of A View From the Bridge) as Alan Bimmel and Joshua Schulman as Jeff Broder.
