News Haunting Play The Other Thing Opens Off-Broadway Tonight The world premiere of Emily Schwend's ghostly drama The Other Thing officiallly opens May 21 following previews that began May 12 at Second Stage Theatre as part of its Uptown Series. Notable among the cast is John Doman, currently featured in the Fox series "Gotham" and best known for his role on HBO's "The Wire."

Directed by Lucie Tiberghien, The Other Thing is staged at the company's McGinn/Cazale Theatre uptown.

The cast also features James Kautz, Bhavesh Patel (Indian Ink) and Samantha Soule (Philanthropist).

The Other Thing follows journalist Kim on her assignment to cover a team of ghost hunters in rural Virginia. Taking place outside a haunted barn, the show follows Kim as she waits for the spirits to reveal themselves--only to find that the ghosts are closer than she thinks. 

The production features scenic design by Kris Stone, costumes by Beth Goldenberg, lighting design by Matthew Richards and sound design by Broken Chord.
