The play had its world premiere at the Cape Cod theatre Hoppe founded some two decades ago, the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre. Off-Broadway veterans Laura Esterman and Mark Rosenthal starred in that production. They repeat their work here. Jenn Harris (Modern Orthodox) also stars.

The play is about Rena, whose father has died, leaving behind a rambling old house, and Corinne, Rena's stepmother, who inhabits it. Rena is flexible; she'll allow Corinne to stay. Just one condition: she has to give up drinking and accept Jesus Christ as her own personal savior.

Set design is by Susan Zeeman Rogers, with costumes by Nathalie Ferrier, lighting by Kevin Hardy and sound by Rick Arnoldi.

Hoppe is best known in New York circles for the brief 1997 Broadway run of his satire Jackie: An American Life. However, on Cape Cod and in Boston, he's a local phenomenon, the author of a string of regionally popular comedies, including A New War, a spoof on the media which had runs in Wellfleet, Boston and New Haven. Other titles include Cuckooland, Ruby Tuesday and Horrifying, Absolutely Real, True Disasters.
