The Tony-winning Broadway star will sing a new arrangement of Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream.”

Tony Award-winning singing actor Heather Headley will perform at Macy’s 41st annual 4th of July Fireworks over the East River in New York.

She will sing with the new orchestral arrangement of the inspirational 1968 Elvis Presley hit “If I Can Dream,” which debuted in 2015 on the album If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Headley won her Tony for playing the title role in the original 2000 production of Aida. Her other Broadway credits include the long-running production of The Lion King, and the 2013 special concert performance Il Divo— Musical Affair. She returned to Broadway in 2016 when she replaced Jennifer Hudson in the role of Shug Avery in the revival of The Color Purple. She won a 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album for her CD Audience of One.

With more than 60,000 pyrotechnic effects, the 25-minute display, billed as the nation’s largest, will be visible from the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, starting at 9:20 PM July 4. It will be televised across the U.S. on NBC. The preshow begins at 8 PM ET/PT.

In addition to Headley, musical entertainment for the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will be supplied by the West Point Band and the West Point Glee Club; operatic vocalist Jamie Barton's will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and country singer Craig Campbell will sing “American Anthem.”
