Off-Broadway's most famous transsexual, Hedwig, is headlining the Wetlands Preserve club's 10th anniversary concert on Feb. 23. Michael Cerveris and the cast of Hedwig and the Angry Inch will perform songs from the popular Off-Broadway musical at the show, which also features other New York musical theatre talent.
Opening for the Hedwig gang will be former Rent star Adam Pascal and his band, as well as "Keep Bangin'," the drummers who were recently featured in Bring in 'da Noise / Bring in 'da Funk.
Cerveris performed last year with his rock group, Lame -- which includes Alice Ripley, Shannon Ford, and John Jinks. Since there wasn't enough time to prepare Lame for this year's concert, he suggested bringing the cast of Hedwig instead.
The concert is Feb. 23 at the Wetlands Preserve, 161 Hudson St., NYC. Doors open at 8 pm, and tickets are $15. They can be ordered through Tickemaster, (212) 307-4100, or picked up at the box office.
