Urinetown, the Tony-winning Broadway musical about a future world crippled by a catastrophic water shortage, canceled its June 18 evening and June 19 matinee performances due to a leak following rain, but the problem has been solved and shows resume at the Henry Miller Theater 8 PM June 19. Apparently, the rainstorms of recent days have led to leaking at the Henry Miller (previously known as Henry Miller's Theatre), where Urinetown is ensconced. Fearing more water damage, the building's landlord, with an OK from the musical's producers, closed the theatre temporarily for the repairs.

In the show, the scarcity of water leads to the outlawing of all private toilets, forcing the populace to pay for the "privilege to pee." The show won 2002 Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score and Best Director.
