Disney is putting herculean effort behind the marketing of its latest film release -- appropriate enough, since their new animated film is a modern, spoofy Hercules.

The world premiere will take place at the New Amsterdam Theatre on West 42nd St. In NYC, a legit venue being prepped for Disney's The Lion King. According to the New York Daily News, to augment the Sunday, June 15 screening, a live stage show with costumed characters, musical numbers and a full orchestra will be on-hand.

What? You say that's not herculean enough? Well, how about a parade! Starting 9:15 PM Saturday, June 14, the "Hercules Electrical Parade" will march down 42nd St. From 7th to 5th Ave. And then up to 66th St. In Manhattan (closing off all these streets to traffic in the meantime). Special floats have been constructed to electrify the crowds.

What? You say this isn't enough fun for the whole family? Why not also head over to Chelsea Piers (23rd St.) for Disney's "Forum Of Fun," now through June 15. Live performances, interactive games and animations await visitors.

According to the Daily News, 1994's The Lion King film grossed over $300 million at the box office, while Hunchback Of Notre Dame, though taking in just $100 million, made half a billion more on merchandising. Hercules the movie shows the protagonist going from "zero to hero" as he battles an evil villain named Hades. Voices heard in the Alan Meken and David Zippel score include Rip Torn (Young Man From Atlanta), James Woods, Tony-winner Lillias White (The Life), LaChanze (Once On This Island, Ragtime) and Susan Egan (Beauty And The Beast) .
