The June 15 concert is titled Songs for Fathers, Sons and Daughters; show time is 7 PM. Concertgoers can expect to hear a mix of pop and Broadway selections, including tunes penned by Herrera, Amanda McBroom, David Wilcox, The Beatles, Harry Chapin and Stephen Sondheim. Herrera will be accompanied by Rick Snyder on piano and bass player Tom Mendel.
John Herrera received a Tony nomination for his performance in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and his Broadway credits also include Camelot; Shogun, The Musical; 1776; The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; Man of La Mancha; The Threepenny Opera; and The Times They Are A-Changin'. His national tour credits include Che in the original national tour of Evita, Anatoly in Chess, Les Misérables, Martin Guerre, Falsettos, Angels in America and Music of the Night. Herrera's numerous theatrical credits also include La Boheme (Public Theater), Harry Chapin: Lies & Legends (Village Gate Theater), Anna in the Tropics (Seattle Repertory and Jupiter Maltz Theater), A Little Night Music (Goodspeed Opera House and Signature Theater), Working (Long Wharf Theater), Sunday in the Park with George (Goodman Theatre), Romance, Romance (Apple Tree Theater) and Lend me a Tenor (Royal George Theater).
