Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film classic, "The 39 Steps," will air on cable TV's Turner Classic Movies (TCM) May 12 at 8 PM (ET). TCM host Robert Osborne will introduce the film and mention the hot Broadway production, Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, which is now playing an open-ended commercial run at the Cort Theatre on Broadway.

(For the uninitiated: Preparation is not necessary to enjoy the stage show, but the viewing experience is richer, fans say, if you know the Hitchcock classic.)

The madcap comedy caper reopened at the Cort Theatre May 8 after a successful winter run by The Roundabout Theatre Company at the American Airlines Theatre.

Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps is the critically acclaimed 2007 Olivier Award winner for Best New Comedy. On Broadway, the show has been nominated for three Drama Desk Awards, including Unique Theatrical Event; three Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Outstanding Broadway Play and Outstanding Director of a Play (Maria Aitken); and a Drama League Award for Distinguished Broadway Play.

The 39 Steps is adapted by Patrick Barlow and directed by Maria Aitken. The production is based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon and on the book by John Buchan. The production features Arnie Burton (Man #2), Charles Edwards (Richard Hannay), Jennifer Ferrin (Annabella Schmidt/Pamela/Margaret) and Cliff Saunders (Man #1). The company also includes Claire Brownell, Cameron Fulmar and Mark Shanahan.

At every performance, 39 tickets at $39 are available. Student Rush tickets are available for $26.50 at the box office two hours prior to the performance. There is a limit of two tickets per valid student ID. The tickets are available for cash only and are subject to availability.

Performances are Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM, Sunday at 3 PM.
