News Hollywood Bowl Summer Season to Include Staging of Chicago Plus Kristin Chenoweth, Julie Andrews, Blue Man Group The Hollywood Bowl has announced its 2013 summer season, which will include a star-studded production of John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse's Chicago.

This season at the famed outdoor venue will kickoff June 22 at 8 PM with the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame concert. Those artists who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame will be announced at a later date. Previous inductees include Kathleen Battle, Joshua Bell, Garth Brooks, The Carpenters, Sarah Chang, Harry Connick Jr., Roger Daltrey, Plácido Domingo, Gloria Estefan, Sir James Galway, Josh Groban, George Harrison, Marilyn Horne, Chaka Khan, B.B. King, Nathan Lane, Patti LuPone, Henry Mancini, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Founding Director John Mauceri, Reba McEntire, Liza Minnelli, Monty Python, Randy Newman, Bernadette Peters, Bonnie Raitt, John Raitt, Carlos Santana, Frank Sinatra, the Smothers Brothers, Leopold Stokowski, Donna Summer, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, André Watts, John Williams, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson and Trisha Yearwood.

The staging of the hit Broadway musical Chicago will be presented July 26-28. Casting and creative team will be announced closer to the event. In recent years, the Bowl has presented stagings of Hairspray, Rent, Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables and more.

Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth will also take the stage of the Hollywood Bowl for concerts Aug. 23-24. She will be joined by musical director/conductor Mary-Mitchell Campbell. The singing actress will offer tunes from her Broadway, television and film successes as well as personal favorites. A spectacular fireworks show will cap off the evenings.

John Williams: Maestro of the Movies will be presented Aug. 30-31. The evenings will feature the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Williams. Academy Award winner Julie Andrews will be the special guest narrator. The concerts will include some of Williams' most popular Hollywood hits, including "Harry Potter," "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Star Wars" as well as a tribute to the legacy of director Blake Edwards and composer Henry Mancini, who created such enduring classics as "Breakfast at Tiffany’s," "The Pink Panther," "Peter Gunn," "The Days of Wine and Roses" and "Victor/Victoria."

The Off-Broadway sensation Blue Man Group will play the Bowl Sept. 6-7. Thomas Wilkins will conduct the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. "The unique and dynamic partnership of Blue Man Group and orchestra will present a special blend of music, comedy, and theatrics, which is sure to delight and inspire," according to the Bowl. Other events of interest to theatre fans include a Grease Sing-A-Long July 13, an ABBA FEST Sept. 8 and a Sing-A-Long Sound of Music with host Melissa Peterman Sept. 21.
